William B. Johnson (1809-1887)
William Johnson was a prominent jeweler in
Macon and also dealt in real estate. He married the daughter of
Edward Dorr Tracy (Macon's second Mayor). He is also responsible for
building the now famous mansion on Georgia Ave. known as the Hay House.
The mansion was constructed using an Italian Renaissance design.
