These
two lots contain the graves of two governors of the State of Georgia. G.W.
Towns served as Georgia's governor during the Civil War. Gov. Colquitt was
known as "The Rock of South Mountain" for his bravery in a battle that
took place in Maryland during the Civil War. He became governor after the
war was over.
